The Difference between ‘Excellent’ and ‘Best’ condition.

Each Classic Typewriter machine can be purchased in one of two conditions: Excellent and Best A++

I began to offer this distinction in all machines around 2022, though I’d offered it earlier on some models. The reason being, some people requested immaculate machines, and they were harder to source, cost more, and were more difficult to service. So I simply offered another tier.

All of our machines come with a working guarantee, the Classic Typewriter Lifetime Tradein Policy, a new ribbon installed, a case (if portable), a digital tutorial and manual, and a warranty.

Differences between the Best and Excellent conditions:

Best A++

Best A++ is simply translated as ‘the best machine I can get.’ It doesn’t mean ‘perfect’. 50-100 year old machine is by nature ‘imperfect'. That is in fact part of the beauty of it. The decals, paint, and finish is improved. The chrome is generally better, and new rubber is installed as needed, meaning feet and rollers. These can take a little bit longer, depending on rarity.

We also try to source the best case possible. Sometimes, a nice case is harder to find than a nice machine. Though in general the ‘Best’ applies to the machine itself.

Best machines come with a 3 year warranty.

Excellent Typewriters

We have the some of the highest standards in the industry. Our ‘Excellent’ machines are still the best you can get. Sometimes there are just slightly more signs of love. Decals can show a little more wear. If I have a ‘best’ in stock and you order an ‘excellent’ I’ll send you the best I have, which is often very close to what I would call ‘Best’.

Excellent machines come with a 1 year warranty.
